    The carrier in Lysol may do more harm to the insole and lining and powders...even antifungal powders...will dry leather out.

    Maybe a purpose-made shoe disinfectant like 10 Seconds would be better. That could also be useful for freshening up my athletic shoes...

    Smile final product

    Thanks again to everyone for their replies. Santa put some shoe care products in my stocking and I picked up the rest on my own.

    I'm quite pleased with the results and these shoes should get me by for the next while. Once I graduate and can afford new shoes, I'll have the products and know-how to take care of them!
