Having worn the kilt through all of my life, I'm puzzled as to why a man would want to wear a pin. The sporran is worn to hold down the front pinafore. Pins were instigated for women to put on teir skirts and, later, their kilts because they wear a lighter material and no sporran. Furthermore, a pin does damage the cloth.
