I really admire your work. You either have both lots of patience or experience to do all that beautiful leather design work, or both.

Wondering if you have made any with removeable spikes from the center boss? I am preparing to make my 1st targe and would like to know where I can purchase the spike/boss, or how to make one.

I am working on my first now with a removable spike. I searched for quite a while trying to find a source for a pre-made spike and boss. The only boss available is a big one that is made for Roman shields. So I made them myself. I made what is called a dishing stump to hammer the sheet brass into to get the shape I wanted. As for the spikes, I am making mine out of 3/8 in brass rod and threading one end and tapering the other. I'll try to get you a few pics up later.
