    It is done...and in the wash...I'm going to run it through with extra rinse a few times..I don't think the weave in this stuff is the problem..I think it is just too much sizing...I made a sail cover four our boat out of the same stuff, and it has softened up nicely hanging in the weather for a month or two..

    Have you tried soaking the thing in hot water...LOTS of hot water...like the bathtub?

    ive soaked it in hot water with fabric softener... ive run it through the dryer on low heat with tennis balls and old shoes nothing seems to work... it fits great and looks good its just too stiff.

    WEll..I guess you could send it to me and I could strap it to the boom of the sailboat for a couple of months...

    That sucks..I just googled how to soften duck cloth and half of the links came back here...LOL
