Shaun that's a great photo! Your father has the air of a man who has worn kilts his whole life. What great style the two of you have.
It makes me realise that I don't have a single photo of my father wearing the kilt. He did so rarely, borrowing my kilt of a couple occasions such as going to the Highland Games.
Cherish that photo forever!
Richard

Thank you. Both bonnets are MOD TOS. Mine is a WPG and my friend's is one he custom made from an unfortunately moth eaten battle dress/uniform. The uniform originally belonged to a a rather famous commander of a WWII regiment that is the model for the re-enactor's group that Saguto belongs to. Hence the 22 ounce MOD Black Watch kilt and the military spec day wear sporran.
His bonnet is softer and of course from the original wool so it conforms to his head and his desires better than mine. But shape-wise and size-wise they are identical. His is a half shade darker.

I think they look great .
Completely the vintage style I cherish.
For info; on Alpine bonnets, the cap badge is worn on the right side.
Best,

My only Picture Thus Far...

Will try to get a better one soon, but I liked being "Regimental" in the snow while everyone else complained of the cold...lol.

Best,

Robert,
Yes, I see that in your kit.
That said, it always surprises me how much the little things can matter--I mean things beside the kilt itself. A good pair of matching or relevant tartan hose can take the "look" up about five notches. The choice of the bonnet can set or re-set your whole appearance. "Shoes make the man"...or in this case the kit itself.
I guess it depends on what image you're looking to project. But, I suspect that each aspect...accessory...confers its own level of dignity. Or not.
PS...I know you wife makes a lot of your kit. I made the shoes, my wife made the hose. I made the belt and the sporran and the sgian dubh, my wife made the shirt (black silk with a band collar. The detachable collar was made in the UK). Having a personal connection to your kit means a lot to you, I know...as it does me.
