Prince Charles Duke of Rothesay in kilt photos

I neglected to compliment the collector and contributors of those wonderful photographs. They are truly an incredible collection. Thanks so much for posting them.

I was just noticing in the most recent photos I posted of HRH Prince Charles, that he is not only wearing the oft mentioned "pocket watch" (note chain in the photo below), but is also wearing a wrist watch in many of the photos

Why the chain? Just for show (with nothing attached)?
Any thoughts on this?

I don't have any authoritive knowledge Terry but my guess is that he has worn a watch chain for a number of years with his scottish dress, and now it's just part of his normal accoutrements that he feels naked without. Just a guess as I said

This may be a little off topic, but these pictures are the first time I think I have seen HM The Queen laughing outright and enjoying herself thoroughly.

Gosh, what a dandy thread. I notice that HRH wears vests that aren't "pointed". I really enjoy that look.

I was "referred" and you are right, it's an excellent collection and allows one to see how to dress.
