Well, it's been awhile since I've posted but I've been very busy and the last thing I want to do after dealing with kilts for 16-18 hours a day is to log onto a kilt forum! ;)

I have made a number of changes to my website/business/etc. which I will outline below:

Prices: Kilt prices have gone up slightly. (A few models/ranges are still the same.) I have also simplified the ordering process a bit so as not to overwhelm the consumer! Most of my accessories are still priced as before.

XMTS Discount: As of February 1st, I will no longer be offering a 10% discount on accessories. The discount still applies to Kilts and Plaids, but that is all. Unfortunately I was stuck with a choice of either raising prices for everyone or eliminating the discount. As always, PM me before ordering a Kilt or Plaid and I will send you a payment link reflecting the discount.

Packages: I long resisted the idea of complete outfit packages but the past couple of years have shown me that most of my customers seem to prefer everything put together for them to make the shopping experience as painless as possible. These packages offer a 10% savings compared with buying each item separately. I realise that most XMarkers savour the experience of choosing every single item, so feel free to hash it out with me regarding substitutes or upgrades! The overall package discount will remain, of course.

Lawaway: I now offer layaway plans for any item I sell. (Just like a furniture store!) The first payment is due upon ordering and the remaining three will be scheduled at one month intervals. Once the last payment is made, your item will be shipped. It's that simple. Unlike some layaway plans, there is no extra fee involved.

And that's about it. I know haven't been active for the past few months, gentle kilties, but I shall endeavour to become a more frequent presence from now on.

Welcome back John. Your voice has been missed, but after visiting your web site last eve and seeing a 15 week wait time for kilts I can understand how busy you are. Tiring, but a sign the business is thriving at least. Also noticed some of the pricing changes, which I feel are appropriate, considering a guy has got to eat and house and clothe himself and his family, and maybe have a tiny bit of life outside of work. The changes willl not stop us coming to you, and I for one am happy to have you explain your need for changes with us, your friends and customer base.

Thanks, lads! Yes, it is very tiring but rewarding! I've decided to slow down a little bit this year as I was working too many hours. I actually may get some things done around the house on the ever-growing list my wife makes for me! (groan)

Over the past couple of years, we have all had to take a hit. It has been the small businesses that have been the slowest to raise prices, and the fairest in the percentage of the price increases. In a time when you cannot get a real car for less than $30,000 (if you want a radio and AC), and milk is $3.00+ a gallon, how can any of us begrudge you the right to a fair wage, although it always seems like the true artisans of the world never get a fair wage, and their price increases only occur to keep them at "break even". Your kilts seem to be worth way more than you charge anyway. You are still my "go to guy" for kilts.

You were a bit underpriced, in my opinion. With the sale, and the Xmarks discount, I got a great deal on the box pleat you made for me. I will certainly continue to buy from you.
