Hi, Matt, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Your Ulster pedigree looks more than sufficiently Scottish to me.
And even if it weren’t, it would do you no harm to wear a kilt.
I got into it through my regiment, and when I left the army 33 years ago I handed my kilt in.
I have regretted it ever since, but was scared off by the high price of kilts.
Now I have had one made for me, and I expect to take delivery this week.
I am of Scottish descent through my maternal grandmother. But just lately I have been looking into the rest of my family tree and found quite a few other Scottish connections. People with my German surname have ties to easily half a dozen clans!
Regards,
Mike

from Chicago. Here's a Wikipedia article on the Plantation of Ulster, a move by King James to 'civilize' Ireland. This is where the term Scots-Irish came from. Scots who came from Ireland. One of my Scots lines (Gordon) was there from 1646 to 1738 when two Gordon brothers emigrated to Virginia.
