This year we are experiencing what is called an Atlantic Blocking High, I think, and it's pushing the bad weather that would normally be experienced at my coordinates further south. Here at 45 degrees N, we're having what is, by our standards, a somewhat quiet winter as a result- at least that's been true so far. But anyway, sorry about that.

We got sideswiped by the storm as it rolled through West Texas only got about 2 or 3 inches of snow. It's 11 degrees with a wind chill of 15 to 20 below. Had to go over to the store earlier which is just across the street from where I live and had ice in my beard and mustache by the time I got home. This is the coldest weather we have had in the Odessa area since 1985. It was could enough I had to wear my bridge coat over my MOD 22oz Blackwatch.
