I'm impresses with the creativity and originality of your jacket. Very interesting.
And that is the Confederate memorial tartan--Beautiful kilt. My wife is a Daughter of the Confederacy. I was thinking of getting a kilt (someday) with that in mind....

Congratulations on your kilt. It looks like it is well-made and fits you well. I think it looks particularly nice pleated to the sett.
It's obvious that you put plenty of work into this project and that you are very proud of the Confederate States of America.

I hope I don't come off as hostile here, but a couple observations:

 1. This looks almost exactly like the Marine Corps Woodland Marpat Utility Blouse. The digital pattern, the colors, and even the slanting of the pockets give it away. If it is an actual Marine blouse it will bear the embroidered Eagle, Globe, and Anchor insignia on the chest pocket. It may be a "knock-off", but from this photo it looks exactly like the "cammies" that I wore while on active duty. Even if this is not an "official" uniform item, it is such a good copy that it will surely be mistaken for such by Marines.

 2. Marines do not generally take kindly to others appropriating our "clan colors". In fact, the genuine Marpat pattern is patented to discourage this. We had to earn the right to wear gear like this. Be forewarned that when you wear this you may be approached by Marines whose buddies bled and died in cammie blouses like this. I encourage you to really consider what your response will be when asked "Who were you with?" and why have you sewn patches all over a USMC cammie blouse?

 Cordially,

 David

Had a "brain Fart" and posted before my question. I retired prior to the utilities change over. Isn't the USMC Emblem also woven into the material through out?

Thanks for the compliments & the concerns. The shirt is made by TruSpec & has no Marine insignia on it & never will. I was unaware that the camo pattern belonged to a branch of OUR service & wasn't asked for proof of being in the service when it was bought. If asked I will PROUDLY explain why it looks as it does & be willing to defend it if needed. Thanks again for your concerns

					Nice work.
As a squid I will concur with my jar head brothers. The Marines are so touchy about the parttern that when it first came out even the Corpmen weren't allowed to wear it. That has loosened up since but when the Navy moved over to a digital pattern on our NWUs we were forbidden from having a digital desert NWU for the average squid. Only NSW (special warfare) are allowed them. The rest of us have to use the woodland pattern desert.
