I will say that for casual crawls I have went ahead and started using SWK's "Nightstalker" sporran which has room for a camera, phone, flask, keys, pocket knife, wallet, and a few other essentials. Being a dad I'm likely to bring a stack of bandaids and neosporin as well.

Yeah, it's a very, very casual sporran, but my shoes (Blackout Vans off the wall Hi-Tops) aren't exactly classic gear either, and when I say "casual" I'm talking t-shirt + kilt at the park or on a crawl.

I've done that too. I like not only the overall size of that sporran but the way it's "compartmentalized": Main compartment, front panel compartment in front of that, and yet another for keys/change/whatever in the flap.

Why carry a flask? It already comes in a bottle. What do you do once the flask is empty, and you left the rest of the bottle at home?

    You know...that's a good point.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

    Y'know wut?

I think you just blitzed th' frakk out of a classic Zen-style conundrum.
