Simply superb. The detail is finely worked; the colors complement the textures beautifully; and the overall effect is absolutely stunning.

Wow... Nothin' else needs be said.

So- what is the lace made from? Is it kangaroo?

    Thanks Laurie,
the tool in question is a found piece I modified to deliver the size and shape impression needed. It's actually quite broad- so it's needs rather a lot of force behind it to impress into the 10oz leather, which I don't case too much, otherwise it just gets mushy and doesn't yield the sharper edge to the hammering I want. It's quite a lot like panel-beating.

The lace is unfinished veg-tan cowhide that I dyed and burnished to deliver a good match.

It's kind of funny, the red interior is starting to be a 'trademark' of mine - the only thing I don't use it on now is the hunting style like Drac's, as the edges are too close to the interior body and I'd worry about red showing through the crack.

Its a beauty. Fur side gussets, or one piece front and sides?

Honestly I would be alitle concerned about the braid pulling on the guard hairs, but it looks like you have a gusset in there and the latch braid won't have to move very far between latched and opable. Like all things fur, I bet it will be fine as long as it is treated with respect.

Beautifully crafted Artificer! It's so good to see real artistry and craftsmanship in a world of mass production.

Here's a new one I just finished that's being packed for posting right now to a fellow X-Marker.

Red Fox Dress Sporran; with red suede interior and black kidskin gussets and trim. Cantle supplied by the commissioner.

Extra wide gusset as per commissioner's request

    Overall dimensions are:
9.5" tall to top of knob on cantle
7.75" wide across the body (not including fur)
1.33" deep when closed (not including fur)
and the bag opens to just over 4" wide.
