Yes tea will also work, a nice dark indian or ceylon one will be the best.

I put warm water in a bucket, mix in the tea/coffee, wet the hose first in warm water, put them in, stir about every 5 minutes for the first hour, then a couple of times an hour for the next 2 or 3 then leave them overnight. Take out the next morning, let them flat dry without rinsing, then handwash in cold water. The photos of the ones I posted were done about 12 months ago
