Richard mentioned his father's health in a telecon we had back in the beginning of February. I'm sorry to hear he won't be attending Ardenwood this year. Richard and his Warriors do an excellent job of bringing history alive.

I've known him since '93. He and I did more than a few presentations to elementary schools on Scottish history, and the influence Scottish ideas had in the shaping of our country (i.e. the Declaration of Independence is based in part on the Scottish Declaration of Arbroath written in 1320.)

Look forward to hearing how the games turned out.

After three months of meetings and preparation, tonight is setup and tomorrow is THE DAY. It looks like the weather is cooperating, though it should be cooler and a bit cloudier than it is today and was yesterday. Still and all, should be a great day!

Looks like we'll have 24 athletes, the Red Thistle dancers, three bands rotating on the main stage, The MacIntosh Pipe Band, two Highland Dance schools, falconry, the Beer Garden, the childrens glen, 5-6 living history groups, and about a dozen clans and societies.
