With this outfit I made the hose, made the sporran and strap, modified the jacket, and the balmoral is a cheap wool Hong Kong tam that I fitted with ribbon and a tourie. I also made the button hole pin and the thumbstick.

I think the overall look is very traditional (hope that's what you were aiming for ) I echo what Jock said about being resourceful and would like to say that your jacket conversion is one of the smartest I have seen.
