My first Kilt

I think dark red would look excelent with this tartan, but as David said, there are several less obvious options that would work really well too!

May be just the camera angle, but you may want to check length? Most people, I think, are agreed that middle of the knee-cap is lowest point the kilt should touch

I'm betting that the length on this kilt is just fine- it looks as if the kilt is being worn quite low on the waist (around where the p@nts waist is, rather than the true waist). Mr. Montgomery, have you considered wearing it a bit higher on the waist?

I agree with Ryan, it looks like your kilt is at your p@nts level.

We start out wearing kilts where we are used to wearing our p@nts. Once I raised my kilt up to my true waist and got used to it there, it feels right and natural. Looks better as well.

It's mostly camera angle, but I did hoist it a little higher before I went out. The top of the kilt was about an inch above my navel.
I really needed a 23" but they only came in a 24". I struggled with the thing all night trying to keep it high enough.
Also, my last name isn't Montgomery; I have Montgomerys and Gibsons on my Mother's side of the family.
