In kilt attire terms the black, silver buttoned, barathea argyll is really formal day wear(morning coat equivalent) and it is quite acceptable for that attire to be continued to be worn into the evening by wedding guests who had started the day at a day time wedding. As would Tweed kilt attire. Personally, I would wear a white shirt to an event such as a wedding, particularly with the black argyll option.
