Amour Class Early Basket Hilt.

Just got in my Armour Class Early Basket Hilt,I was lucky the wait is 7 months but they had one in stock ;)

Had the hilt Blued now I have to order a scabberd or make one.

Pretty nice the weight and balance is great seems like a very well put togher sword, Re-enactment Double Edge

Anyone else own a sword from them?

Nice! I have an earlier version of the same sword. Looks like they've improved it alot over the last 15 years! ArmourClass swords are the best....

Very cool! Yup I have the exact same one from them. Great sword if a little top heavy. Friend of mine in Norway is making me a new baldric and scabbard for it.

Still very nice sword woodsheal I would have liked to have got one of there more high end swords,but I have spent alot of money this year on Re-enactment gear!

Captain I was thinking about ordering one of there scabbards,or find a custom onewhen I can ,anyone have any suggestions were to find one?

I don't have an armourclass, but they're works of art. I do have an antiqued basket hilt from Hanwie though. post a pic soon. It's got a good weight, but the blade always seems so thin. Wonderful sword though, all around. How do you think they measure up?

Hanwei swords are.... "OK". They are not combat worthy, certainly not hand forged, the basket hilts are stainless steel and the scabbards are utter trash.

But for an OK affordable first time buyer 18th century Scottish sword they are fine. But they are a fun good looking sword.

One of those and a Muesum Replica Irish hilt were the first two I bought before replacing them with swords from Armor Class. I had saved up and saved up to buy one from Donnie Shearer but he since has dropped off the planet.
(I do hope his health takes a turn for the better.)

@ErikM I know a few guys but its kind of a difficult situation really. If I were you, I would ship the sword off to some one who knows a lot about 18th century leather working and have him make me a scabbard.
It might be worth talking to this guy about one. He is exceptionally helpful and friendly and very familiar with Armor Class swords. He is also a Jacobite Reenactor. Name is Tod.

I have had the practical and antiqued swords from Hanwie,as far as the look I liked the antiqued version and found the practical light, but mine did not hold up to any blade contact.

I don't have one yet, but my goodness, I will and I say again WILL have one, one of these days. Out of all of their basket hilts, the early version that you have is the one that's most appealing. Until then, I'm stumbling along with a cobbled together version. (I fitted the basket from a Cold Steel Scottish broadsword to a Hanwei/Tinker early medieval single handed sword blade, which did simply wonders for balance and handling.)

But one day? Oh yeah. Armour Class.

Have any of you all tried Albion before? I did not see any Basket Hilt swords but thought the others looked pretty nice. Wasn't sure if they were any good or not, does anybody here have any good or bad reviews of this company?

I have a sword from them also. It is their heavy Dragoon Saber. They do great work. I however did have to wait the 7 months. Will attempt to post a pic here soon.
