Brass piece completed and posted off.

Had a devil of a time finding the right dye for the tassels, but am very pleased at the final result.

Wish I'd had more time to document the whole process, but have been squeezed lately.
Last minute change from white to red lacing on the front. I also ended up rebuilding the whole rear 3/4 of the bag. The original leather wasn't flexible enough and tended to pull and pucker at the seams.

I ended up switching to deerskin.

The whole bag is lined in red suede pigskin.

As always, constructive commentary is welcome.

    Scott,

Looks great! Can't wait to see it in person. Thanks again. I'll do a thorough review when it arrives.

Ah, David, if you are anywhere near as pleased with your goat as I am with my beaver you will be a happy man indeed.

Wow, that is one mighty fine looking goat hair sporran and shows off that exquisite brass cantle in a fabulous manner. Congratulations on another great creation Scott and congratulations David on acquiring a truly great looking sporran.

Man- Looks right out of the period (aside from the construction, which is far better than most of what I've seen on period pieces).

Bravo, Scott! And to David, as well! I wonder if I'll have to wait for Burns Night to get a look at this thing in person...

A very fine looking sporran, Scott, and I am sure David will wear it to your credit.

Wow! That is truly gorgeous! I look forward to seeing pictures of it being worn with the kilt.

Here's the latest piece, just posted off to our own Mael Coluim.

A day bag with the laced flap and rear edge similar to mine and BoldHighlander's.
This one done is a ridiculously buttery-soft cordovan/burgundy colour and features a magnetic snap closure.

Belt and sporran strap are Dyed-to-match with a beaded edge and solid brass hardware.

Ern wanted a customized compartmentalized interior for business cards, chapstick, a pen, cellphone and a key keeper.

The key keeper is braided with a "Mystery Braid" which means it's actually one strip of leather with no "cuts" on either end.

As always, constructive commentary and critique are welcome.
