What can you tell us about your shoes?

The shoes are from Jas Townsend as are the Buckles, they are straight lasted and you need to wear them a bit to mould them to your feet. I have worn them for about 2 years to functions(weddings, balls, parties etc) and they are comfortable. They are heavy compared to dancing pumps and I had a rubber heal plate put on them as the sole and heal are leather when they come from the store. The buckles are working buckles and are brass. I also have another pair of buckles in white bronze, called the Great Scot, which I purchased from a re-enactors online store in the US.

Sporran is from Josh (Norcalpiper) at Skye Highland outfitters and is known as the John Brown. The cantles are high grade pewter and made for Josh in the UK.

Nice looking doublet. Definitely better looking than a PC.

I agree with MoR, when you have the time, the sleeves could be shortened a bit. His other suggestions make good sense as well.

Look forward to seeing the photos of the Tartans and Clans ball.

Nice! It's a good feeling to bag a great deal on ebay. Almost an addiction in itself.

Looking great, Mike, VERY well turned out! You'll definitely turn heads at any fancy do!

I would agree with MoR that having the sleeves taken up a bit would really add to the fit and finish, but everything else is spot-on.

BTW: What brand of hose are you sporting there?

They are the J Higgins $60.00 pair. A lot of people complain about them as they are machine made, but after use, I handwash them, lie them flat to dry and never had any issues with them.

Fantastic! I think you've mentioned that before. I'm definitely going to have to look into a pair of those.

I have 2 pairs of these hose(red/white and red/black) that fit US shoe size 10-11 that I am looking to sell for ~$25 each. If anyone is interested, please PM.
