I've been caching for a while, but only have a hundred or so finds. I need to get back into it Wouldn't recommend doing it kilted, though... draws to much attention from the muggles :P

Started Labor Day weekend 2007. Found my 1000th on 8-22-09. Finds in 7 states.
This is how I started out the search for my 1000th (Panda-MOAN-ium GCXZ6G a 5/5 multi). Had to climb a tree for one stage, the co-ordinates were hidden in the butt of a plastic owl.

That's been the hard part. I got muggled twice looking for a cache that was 15 miles from anything. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache...spx?wp=GC1T139 It's out in the middle of nowhere, on a trail through Nat. Forrest land, but that day it might as well have been the infield at Yankee Stadium. Cherry County, NE is bigger than the state of Connecticut and there are only about 6,000 people there, and I think half of them were following me around the boonies! Never found the cache, but I found out that I can outrun a badger when I have to. He lives right at GZ on the cache! He can have it.

That's the funny thing...I don't draw any attention when I'm kilted close to home. It's a small town...they're used to it. If I'm not kilted, and not wearing my "work clothes," then I draw attention.
Away from my own "stomping grounds" though, I'd have to agree! A lot of the towns around here have populations of less than 100, a few are in the single digits. It doesn't matter what you wear or what you look like...they know you're not local! Since there really aren't any reasons for anyone to stop or hang around these little places anything you do is pretty conspicuous. I find it easier in bigger towns and cities...people tend to not pay much attention or just figure that you're a tourist or something. They're used to seeing people they don't know.

I haven't had to probe any plastic critters...yet. I did have to climb a windmill and wade through a marsh after one though. I'll be in the Black Hills this weekend...there are a few 4/4 and 5/5 caches I might go for. Good times.
It's as addictive as kilts! At least my wife approves of some of my obsessions--kilts, geocaching, spork collecting. Now if I could just get her into Star Trek...

The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

I've been geocaching for quite a while. Formerly under the geo-handle of Outlander03, currently as _dadgad. My avatar is my pathtag.

That's the kind of cache that I wanna find more of. The harshest terrain I have around here seems to be 2 or maybe 3. Seems it's a big thing for the day cares to get the kids to exercise. I need to get out away from where the people are.

Star Trek's an easy one. Just, every time T'Pol or 7 of 9 shows up, tell the wife, "That outfit makes her butt look big!".
P.S. My caching handle is Fueldaddy76. Cheers!

A lot of the ones close by are rated 2-3 but I it's more like 1-2 in reality. I like the challenge of tougher ones, but the lower ones are fun because my son can go along--at a year and a half old 4's and 5's are a bit much. He can stay with Grandma and Grandpa, get spoiled, and I'll go nuts on the tough ones.
I know the guy who owns about half the caches for about 50 miles in any direction. We're talking about putting together a few multi-caches in the 4/4 range at Chadron State Park or the National Forest adjacent to it. There just aren't any multi's and very few puzzles around here.

Funny, I recommend just the opposite. I think it makes it a bit more challenging. Muggles be d@mned, the cache awaits!
