That's it laddie and in the words of one Winston Churchill when the war(WW2) was not going too well we all had to, "keep buggering on".

Parkour ROCKS!! They are starting to add that to the training in the U.S. Military. Good workout and definately bodybuilding. If I were younger I would be doing it, but at 63 I'm lucky if I can do my Tai Chi. Keep wearing your Kilt. Wear it with pride and remember Kilts are like catnip to women.

I would second this. I personally prefer Shotokan karate and jujitsu. I just got back from class, as a matter of fact. Nothing makes you feel good like saying "You get your ***donkey*** kicked by a guy in a skirt?" and knowing that you can do it- in under 15 seconds. I actually had a guy shove me once... I had him on the ground squeeling like a little girl. This was a coworker who had his own back yard fight club and thought he was a bad, bad man... until the guy in the skirt put him in his place.

I like the martial arts idea. I might caution against combiningTae Kwon Do with kilt wearing, though, due to significant exposure risk, as that martial art makes significant use of the lower body.

On the other hand, like the man said, never get into a fair fight if you can help it. If it starts to go down the wrong way, lower body move, "accidental" exposure, distraction, he's saying what happened? How'd I get on the ground? On my back? Could work in your favor.

Of course, the idea is you become so deadly you're not afraid, and they get the fact they don't want to be there.

The best moves, though, use your attacker's body against themself. Step out of the way of their suckerpunch, grab their wrist, and pull them off balance with their own momentum.

That's the whole point of jujitsu- it's the gentle art. You turn their power into weakness- and make things bend in ways they don't want to!

    Must agree with that one.

We have a several-years-old tradition in my (Bujinkan) dojo that on the training night nearest April 6 (National Tartan Day) those who have kilts may train in them. On that night, however, we take care to avoid things like high kicks and certain throwing methods, lest the lasses in class be o'ercome by the sight of so much masculine glory.

Why the aforesaid lasses seem to always ask for clarification of the proper execution of such kicks and throws on that particular night, I just don't understand. . .

To the OP: Glad you are working things out and feeling better. As with many old sayings, the one that goes 'time heals all wounds' may sound trite, but has more than a grain of truth.

As to physical exercise, I have to offer one of my favourite quotes:

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't.
