I agree - and I was telling James on facebook when he posted pics of his new kilt there, that many of my Highland ancestors (I currently have several relatives that still live there on Gynack Road) hail from the wee town of Kingussie in Inverness-shire - in the heart of Clan Macpherson lands, so this style of pleating would be most approproate in a Macpherson tartan, for a Macpherson clansman! I must have one Matt...I'm thinking...the Macpherson of Cluny tartan by Dalgliesh.

James,
As I mentioned on facebook mate, your new kilt, courtesy of Matthew Newsome, FSA Scot, looks just superb! The LA tartan is gorgeous, and the kilt looks very comfortable to wear as well. I can't wait to put in an order for a Kingussie style myself! Well done!

Looks fantastic, brother!
I'm loving the fact that this style of pleating is starting to take off!

I'm reposting the first pic and the youtube link, because they weren't appearing in the OP.

It's Highland Broadsword, so it's a hit... or a "whack"...

It was, even though there were only two others. :-) I wore it also lastnight to the Londoner Pub for a Celtic music session. The host stared at me agape for a few seconds before offering to seat Emily and I. I got a picture when we returned, but having not worn flashes with the hose, they sagged a little in the picture and I didn't notice till it was all hung up already. But we have a tea on Sunday and I'll wear some sort of daywear and will post more refined pictures then.

Nice kilt, James. I mentioned that to your dad on FB last night.

James,
Is the fabric a custom-weave from Dalgliesh? If so, which colors were used? I very much like that the blue and green are strong and rich (unlike Lochcarron's Anceint pastel shades) but are very distinguishable from the black stripes (unlike Lochcarron's Modern colors.) Very sharp!
Cordially,
David
