First, great outfit! You look good. You should take a new set of pics, however, after the beard comes off, for a comparison.

I can see why your wife would say that it looks very military. In the first photo, I thought you were wearing a tunic. I can see in the second how the waistcoat and black shirt blend in together.

Is that your preferred style of vest? All those silver buttons sure look like a military uniform. Should you want to soften the look, maybe try a light-colored shirt? Cheers.

P.S. these pics are really, really big!! You might want to post a smaller size in the future.

This is my first jacket and waistcoat, I like the style very much, though. Very formal looking without being prince charlie. I also purposefully did black on black for the more severe look. I usually wear jeans and a Star-Wars t-shirt to church so if I was wearing tie it would be on my terms. Nothing but compliments, though!

Looks pretty darn sharp! The kilt looks really good with the hose and jacket, and Nighthawk did a heck of a job on that sporran.

I have to second (or third) the Rasputin comment. You don't look like you're completely insane the way he did, but there really is bit of a resemblance!
