My hat is off to you fulltime kilt wearers!
I got into kilts as part of piping. But unlike most pipers, I also have worn, since my college days, Highland dress at functions where the men are in suits, partly because I didn't own a suit and partly because I have always detested suits.
So in my college days I wore Highland dress on dates if we were to be going to an upscale restaurant or orchestra performance. I don't have to tell the men here that the kilt cannot be beat for dating! Not once was a girl not delighted with my appearance.
And I wear the kilt to Highland Games and Scottish events even when I am not piping at them.
