Another Kilted Visitor....well, Sort of Kilted

Went down to Lees Ferry this morning to rendezvous with some friends headed out on a downcanyon whitewater raft trip through the Grand Canyon. Met a guy named David from Charlottesville, Virginia area who owns a bunch of kilts and hikes kilted. He was wearing a "kilt-like" garment he fashioned for the river trip. So, nice to have another kiltie visit - even if he was wearing his kilt-like garment. No point in ruining good kilts on the river.

Here are the friends I went to meet.

Ladies on either side of me are mother and daughter, have known them over 30 years. Pic was right before their raft headed downcanyon.

Did a bit of hiking at the start of Marble Canyon while I was there.

Kilt is USA Kilts semi-trad in Caledonia tartan. Wore it and the yellow shirt so they could see me easy when I was up on Navajo Bridge taking pics of their raft as it floated by.

I always like your pictures. But who takes them or do you use the camera timer? Tripod?

    Just wondered.

Yes, inquiring minds would like to know how you get so many pics of yourself, usually alone, out in the beautiful desolate great southwest.

Variety of methods. When alone use a tripod (or a rock) a timer, or a remote release.

Other times I just hand the camera to whoever I'm hiking with, or even a stranger.

The first two pics were by a stranger at the landing. The last one was when I was killing time waiting very early in the morning and decided to wander around. Put the camera on a rock and used the remote release. The release has a 2 second delay so I have time to palm it out of sight.
