Congratulations on your new kilt RSL!

I look forward to the detailed photos as I have only seen the Strathmore fabric as swatches. It will be nice to see it full sized compared to the HOE 13 oz.

    Cheers,

    Cool RSL, looks great!

In comparison, it appears that the yellow is a bit less orange than the HOE, but other than that the colors look pretty much the same.

What is the sett size on that beauty? It appears a bit larger than the HOE 13oz.

Did Strathmore make the kilt as well as the tartan?

    Cheers,
    Brooke

ok i think the sett is 7", thats the mesurment from the double yellow, going from the inside yellow to the next inside yellow, if i have it wrong please correct me

strathmore also made the kilt, (the shipping package had strathmores address as the return) so i think they made the kilt as well,
i odered the kilt before joining the forum, and before i really started reading as much as i could, so i did not ask these questions when buying it, and the salesman was not or i dont remember him giving that info, but live and learn, now i know this stuff.
No lose threading anywere on the kilt, and i would not have any problem with getting another tartan and kilt from Strathmore. But i wont be using the store here in SLC again, i'll just oder online next time,

i have been eye balling some of Rocky's USA kilts

    Yep

Yep you did it right, center of double yellow to center of double yellow. I think any other same point to same point would give you the same 7 inch dimension as well. I just measured my House of Edgar (HOE) version and it is just a hair over 6 inches so the Strathmore sett, is a bit larger. And, I have heard good things about their material and their kilt making as well, so another congratulations to you. Wear it in good health!
