    Did that actually happen?

Hmm- I think we'll have to see pictures, to know for sure.

What- me having a bright idea? It does happen... once in a while...

So anyways, here's a picture for you with the new wax job!

    And the backside:

    Much better now!

    Oooo- That IS nice!

And I don't know what you're talking about- that carving looks great to me.

Thanks for the pics, my friend. Very well done.

The modern closure isn't what I would have opted for, but I'm sure it makes the bottle much more functional.

Oh don't worry- that's going to go bye bye as time allows. It came off of a bottle of bubble bath... It tastes a little like soap. I really want to make a good stopper for this thing! I just haven't decided what I want to use. I have so much antler laying around, not getting used at present. But a nice piece of cherry wood also has my attention... Decisions, decisions...

I've heard of putting dry, shelled corn into a too-small leather shoe, then pouring water over the corn. As it absorbs the water, it swells, stretching the leather. I've never seen it done, but it might work, and you wouldn't run the risk of having sand grains stick to the inside of the flask, which looks really nice, by the way.
When the wax on the inside of the flask rehardens, what keeps it from flaking off into your beverage of choice? Or is it a soft wax, not a paraffin-type wax?

Ah, I see- I wasn't looking at it correctly. I thought it almost looked like you had somehow embedded a piece of threaded tube into the neck of the bottle, then closed it with a crex top (which would have been pretty cool and functional, I admit). I see where you're coming from now, though.

Whether antler or wood, once you craft a stopper for it, it will really be set off! Can't wait to see it.

P.S. I love that avatar. Halloween is near the top on my very short list of favorite times of the year.

By the time I saw your post, I had already caught that. Arg... Thanks for holding me accountable, brother.

I can't remember- Will I be seeing you in Franklin, in two days time? If so, I'll have to repay that most generous favor!

I hope so. I'm one of those "definite maybes."

    No more threadjack, Nighthawk.

Well, A and I will be hoping to see you there!

And getting back on topic, you might need a flask like the one that Nighthawk has just created, if you want to make your frozen "Maggieritas" have a little more...nutritional content, on saturday.

(I did a pretty good job of putting the thread back on track, I think. )
