In general white/ cream hose are the mark of a rented outfit.
There is one picture on here somewhere of a registered user in cream hose with a cream colored cable knit sweater. He looks smashing.
It isn't that you "can't" wear cream or white hose; they are inexpensive - you'll see lots of pipe bands in them as well- but in general cream/ white hose don't detract from any kilt, but they don't do anything positive for it either.
With your Black Watch I too would suggest either the green or blue hose you already own. If you have time and funds, claret (deep red) is a popular solid color hose choice for dressier outings. Depending on what your lady is going to be wearing you might complement or contrast one of her colors with your flashes, or not.
