I have a couple of Norwegian Army pullovers with the cutouts for the thumb in the cuff from my days Up in Levanger, Ulvik and Bardufos in the mid 70's. You've inspired me to look for them now...Nice Pic

Woollen sweaters/jumpers are almost normal wear with a kilt here in Oz during winter at casual things like wandering around gatherings, dancing classes and the like, usually with a polo shirt on underneath in case it warms up a bit. At the recent Portarlington Celtic festival it was quite cool so I wore a thick white genuine Arran (Irish) jumper with my Scottish tartan kilt. Response, yes just one, a guy I hadn't seen in 20 years and did not recognise spotted the jumper then me. He is Irish, yes the jumper certainly was certainly OK that day he almost drooled over it but he did not comment on my kilt and to the best of my knowledge had never seen me in one prior! Nobody bothers very much here, if a bit more dressy as at a dinner or formal, a decent coat, shirt and tie is usual.

A few hours ago at Half Moon Bay, California, for the annual Independence Day fireworks. 84 degrees (F) at my girlfriend's place in Los Altos, but a full 30 degrees cooler at the beach.
