Got mine today. Lovely stuff! Now, if only one of you durned people would buy this kilt, I'd have the money to do something with it...!

A RUDE REVELATION
Contrary to what I was told, and paid for, the shipment was NOT sent through Royal Mail but a private carrier and was (attempted) to be delivered with COD of an additional $30.76 fee tacked onto it from UPS presumably for customs.
I am not amused, for the privilege of getting my shipment later than most, I have to stay home to receive it AND pay 60% more for shipping than what was expected.

I waited.. only to find out I was the last person to order.. I was told there were still 5 meters left (which I ordered) but it turned out to be only 2 meters.
They did offer the new RRS tartan (16oz) at a reduced rate in its place.
I was looking for a warm winter kilt - love to snowshoe and ski in a kilt. May end up putting the money towards a WPG Gordon or Cameron.

Dadadadadadadum, dadadadadadadum, dadadadadadum. (Imagine the sound of fingers drumming on a table impatiently).
Now imagine what twiddling thumbs sounds like (pretty quiet , I know, which is why I cannot mimic it here).
Now, very impatiently waiting still for my package, with the added concern that I may get dinged with duty after reading WClarkB's post above. Dread starting to set in.
Furrowed brows and worried looks also do not come across well on forum posts, but imagine those now too.
Aaaarrgghh.
Wife is beginning to get into digging under my skin too, as she knows I am expecting this package, oh for the last week or two. So as soon as I open the door when I get home, even before the "Hi honey, (insert kiss here), how was your day?" I get instead "NO the d@mn package didn't come yet!" first. Is this really supposed to change your life this much?

Skiing in a kilt sounds... cold. Military weight or not

My package arrived via UPS also, but without any additional customs duties (praise be!). Those still waiting: do you have an address that UPS can deliver to? They don't deliver to P.O. boxes, for example....

Our address is well known and accessible to UPS. My wife knows our UPS guy by first name, he is at our house so often. My son is starting to want to call him daddy, and I am beginning to worry that my wife's penchant for internet and catalog shopping may have some extramarrital ulterior motive. ;)
