Those are a bunch of happy toasters. The Quaich is certainly doing well on its Quest so far!

Steve (The Wizard of BC) asked if the Quaich would be going to Banjo Paterson Country.

A.B. Paterson, a prolific writer of stories, poems and a song or two about the Australian bush

    Thank you for that Downunderkilt,

As a youngster I was introduced first to the works of Robert Service known as"The Bard of the Yukon". Later I read my first by A.B. "Banjo" Patterson, "The Bard of the Outback".

Many of our members will know Banjo as the author of "Waltzing Matilda" and "The Man from Snowy River".

Both Service and Patterson were sons of Scottish immigrants. Both wrote (rather romanticized) tales of hard men living in harsh climates.

Paterson was second only to Rudyard Kipling in popularity in his lifetime.

If you don't mind I would like to print a copy of our Quaich at the Banjo Patterson Park and hang it in my shop.

    Quaich arrives in Tasmania

I am completely thrilled to see it here, SO well done to you all, this is so exciting.

I will do my best to honour it's place here in possibly the southernmost part of the world it will visit (unless there are kilted men in Antarctica)
when it departs I will post photos.

I do remember Freedom Kilts boxing up a "make your own kilt kit" for someone in the Antarctic in December 2010.....I don't think the gentleman is a member of XMarks, though, so I think you are safe in being the furthest south that the Quaich will visit, Graham.

One of my kilted friends here, a great fiddler from Scotland asked if the quaich was going to south Australia, are there any members there?

Graham, there is new member by the name of Highland Lass who is in South Australia. Perhaps sending a P.M. may get a response. Cheers Mate
