    I'm not a "Glee" watcher and have no idea what it is, so I suppose I am out of context, but responding to some comments above.

    To me the kilt has always seemed extremely macho manly, so to see a gay man wearing it only means that a gay man is wearing a kilt. He has to wear SOMEthing to keep from being naked. If he wears the kilt for some reason, it's no different to me than p@nts.

    What really and truly puzzles me is the concept that somehow the kilt would be associated with one's sexual orientation. To me those are utterly disconnected concepts.

    Guess I'm just unusual.

    I don't know, it seemed like some of the posts were conveying a worry that people will think all kilt wearers are like the character on Glee. I suppose that could happen, I suppose it could also be worrying a little too much.

    As to new or unconventional fashion and kilt wearing, The Wizard of BC has posted several times on this, such as wearing a fedora and leather jacket with the kilt, and using the regular clothing one has and normally wears with the kilt. It really isn't traditional, and the waters are pretty muddy on that subject, so I'm not sure what to think anymore.
    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
    Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

    Is that character a bad person?

    That's why I asked if it would have been better if the bully on the show had been the one to wear a kilt a few posts back.
    * Edit:
    For future reference, my current signature is "I believe in sandwiches." and that is what Father Bill is referring to in his following posts.

    He's a great character who is drawn pretty close to a real person, in that he's a really good guy overall but has his bad days and flaws. He's just recognized for being written fairly groundbreaking as openly gay, with storylines sometimes revolving around that.

    By that way, it seems my worries were ungrounded, probably because most of the kids and teens who watch Glee are already on Kurt's side and rooting for him. What the girls wore to the prom was probably much more memorable to most of them, and the storyline of why voting a gay male as prom queen can be hurtful will probably stick out more in their minds than what Kurt wore this episode.

    Glad there was no cause to worry. I still don't really understand the fuss much.

    THAT'S what I have the problem with.
