    Kilted Friday Not

I don't need an excuse to be kilted . . . today, when someone asks "what's with the kilt?", I'll reply, "It's Rabbie Burns Birthday!"

    Who else kilted up today?

Newsome single box pleat in the XMarkstheScot.com tartan. XMTS Crest moderator badge (gift from Steve) there is a dandelion in there, too! XMTS crest officers sgian dubh - out of sight.

I am kilted today as well, not for any particular reason other than I want to be. I am wearing my new wool hybrid box pleat kilt that I finished this past weekend.

Here is a picture take Monday evening after I got home from the office.

I was kilted all day not just for the photo. I am in the process (slowly I admit) of building enough kilts both wool and utility styles to be able to shift to wearing kilts most, if not all, of the time.

How about because (historically appropriate or no) because it's Rabbie Burns Day?

Very sharp Mael, as always. I've also donned the kilt today. If I can convince someone to take a pic I'll post it up

I will be, as usual, at one of my bluegrass jams this evening, and, as usual, will be in a kilt. The date is also relevant.

I wore the kilt on Burns Night to a function at a semi local (50 km drive) pub. I was honoured to be asked to do the Address to the Haggis, To a Mouse and Tam O'Shanter.

An account I posted on FB of a kilted encounter last Wednesday, Robert Burns Birthday.

So I stop at a ABC Store to pick up a bottle of whisky for the Saturday's raffle at the upcoming Fredericksburg Scottish Society's Burns Night. The clerk a young man exclaims, "Wow, I like your attire - why the kilt? I replied, "It's Robert Burns birthday!" He replied, who is Robert Burns?" I said, he is a famous Scottish poet who was born 258 year ago, today who wrote that song the old folks sing at New Year's Eve parties when the clock hits midnight.. It got quiet for a moment and then the fellow began whistling Auld Lang Syne!

Today, I’m kilted in my Sanderson Kingussie Scottish Wild Cat tartan kilt. I just love this kilt. The tartan and craftsmanship Bill has put in to it.

    Who else kilted up, today?
