I haven't read the whole thread. I only looked back at the previous page to see the photos there, but these look so nice! I've tried knitting, basically learning on my own. I fumble at anything other than simple scarves. I would love to be able to make something like that for my husband.
I'm looking forward to seeing more photos -- excellent job!

They really are not very difficult. The basic skills you would need to make a plain pair of kilt hose would be knit, purl, working in the round and increase and decreases. hats are good projects to practice and work up to socks I think.

I'll have to pull out my books and knitting supplies sometime and give a hat a try to see if I can work up to something like that. They'd probably also go a little quicker than the long scarves and blanket I was working on when I got burned out and bored.
Thanks for the tips

Giant oatmeal cookies with butter, honey, and cinnamon on top are nice too..., but I don't think you can knit those.
Um... I'll just hop back over here and dive in my hole before String picks me up by the ears. EEK!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

String, Those hose's are absolutely amazing!!! I believe AlanH will wear them for a week straight once they arrive.
I may hit you up for a pair of those for myself.

Make that 25 rows left. I did a repeat of the cable pattern just now (only took over an hour to do) and perhaps I will do the last later, or tomorrow.
