Just something to think about before every one "gangs up" on the traditionalists.

Ah, I missed out that angle - I knew there was something else I had to say. David

cajunscot, I am very glad that you are a traditionalist, and bring your knowledge and views to us. Thank you. I don't like to see either side getting picked on, or picked apart. Very little ever comes of that.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Ted,
Your reply got me to thinking about the tone of my post, so I wanted to clear the air.
I didn't mean to imply that any forum member was specifically picking on traditionalists at this moment; on the contrary. However, while I agree that yes, a person can theorhetically wear whatever tartan they wish and that the clan tartan system has no ancient pedigree (I've been preaching that sermon for quite some time), nevertheless, there is nothing wrong with wanting a particular connection with a tartan, be it clan, district, trade, etc.
I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea; I think if folks want to wear a tartan because they like the colours, then that's great. Personally, I can't do it.
Regards,
Todd
