Palm Springs Kilt Night with Hamish! Saturday April 4th

I have been looking forward to the Palm Springs Kilt night since the subject first came up. I will be unable to attend tomorrow night. A friend died early this week and the memorial is tomorrow evening.
I will stop by the Travelodge this evening, I hope kilt-less is OK.
Please keep me on the list to support a regular kilt night in the area.

Bob and I have arrived -- saw Jamie and Star at check-in but decided to let everybody get settled in before starting the festivities. I've got the laptop and wireless card powered up, memory card reader available for photo downloads -- not quite streaming video, but we'll try to keep the rabble up to date as the weekend progresses.

Fellow So. CA kilties,

I missed the Palm Springs kilt night! Sorry! I have not visited the site for some time (my bad. Job hunting), so I didn't know about the gathering. I was attending the Scottish Society of The Desert Tartan Day dinner that night, and heard about the kilt night from our President.

I'm soooooo bummed that I missed it, particularly because Hamish was there. He and I were going to get together in London last October, but he wasn't feeling well. Is he still in Palm Springs? I really want to meet him before he leaves. Does anyone know how to get hold of him locally? I've sent him a personal message through this site, but I'm afraid he may not see it. If anyone knows how to reach him, please send me a personal message through XMTS. I'd really appreciate it, and I promise not to miss the next kilt night...............because Gibbs and I are going to plan it.

I mentioned last evening that the weather in Palm Springs is also nice in the fall (though Hamish and Jim may not be attending at that time).

Just a suggestion for the SCHool...

You should probably start a new thread in either the "Kilt Nights" or "California" subforum (as well as making a note and link in the SCHool member group).

It will attract more notice

I wish I could have made it. Once again work and contracts kept me away. I do have the promised saltire kilt pins ready to go. Anyone who was kilted and in attendance can have one. PM me your partiulars and I'll get them out. I'd also like to see some photos of the event so please post what you have.
