And now for my serious reply.

How on earth did I miss this thread.

A most excellent presentation guys. Thanks so much for enlightenment; all in a one-stop place. Sticky!

Years ago my minor was in textiles at Oregon State University. One of the required courses was Clothing Selection and the textbook made a similar presentation throughout for men and women. BUT THERE WERE NO KILTS! Kilts were not mentioned once in the textbook. This presentation could certainly remedy that oversight - or be the foundation of a term paper for that course.

A Picture IS Worth A Thousand Words

Gentlemen, what a cool thread you have created! Curmudgeonly gentleman that I am, to find fault would be mere nit-picking. All of the looks are good, and show quite clearly the wisdom of owning one good "traditional" kilt and dressing it up or down as the occasion demands.

As a kilted noob, I want to say thank you. In this thread alone, you answer so many questions I have. I don't think I will ever get to the point of kiltness 24/7 but festivals, shows, and other events are open game... and now I have a visual reference.

    Thanks again!

oh yeah -- I vote for a sticky too!

I agree with PiperinNY. Although it does make me realize how much more I need to buy to have a proper outfit.

Great work gents, and, to echo Jock Scot and MoR, proof that a good kilt will work in any environment. I now have a strange urge to rifle through my wardrobe! Time to put the limoncello away.
