String is a lady with wool in her stashes.
Yarn, thread and needles and rubber galoshes.
She sings when she knits and she knits when she sings
these are a few of my favorite things.
When the tests bite,
When the laundry's a sight,
When I'm feeling sad...
I simply remember miz strings kitted things
and then I don't feeeeeeeeelllll
so ba-a-a-a-ad!

That is possibly the funniest thing ever. Tonight I had a rough night. I settled in to knit the very last repeat on the Kilt hose, and told Yeti to pray I had enough yarn. I knit, and knit, and the little ball got smaller and smaller. I went and dug through my newly organized yarn stash and fished out some yarn that was sorta similar. Then I PMd Alan to see if it was ok to use a bit of different wool in there. When he FINALLY PMd me back (watched kilties never reply it seems) and told me to do what seemed right I tried to calm my heart rate and knit, and knit, and the little ball got smaller and smaller. It was lasting much longer than I had thought, I began to have hope that it might last. The the end was in site, I had only 2 rows left, and I got a sinking feeling that the wool in my lap just wouldn't match the hose, so I went searching for something better, I found it, some scraps of handspun, left over from when I made Yeti his garters way back in July. The gauge was a bit small but the color matched perfectly, and there was just enough for the last row and a half and to graft the two ends together. Happily I PMd Alan to let him know that he can start jonesing in earnest and began to weave in ends. I now have two finished socks in my lap, and am heading off to dunk them in the sink with some woolwash, and in the process avoid my Roomie and her Boyfriend's sappy valentine's day conversation.
THEY ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to ask, are you referring to the kilt sox or the room mates?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
