Hi everyone!
I'm the assistant manager of the Bow Bar that some of you will be visiting on Friday. I was doing a curious search on line with my work and the Gathering and came across this forum. Would just like to say that you are all welcome to the Bow Bar, and yes we will be busy, plus we are not huge so you may want to get in early to grab a table. We have 8 real ales and 200 whiskies to help make you feel welcome though. I have put together a little something for the Clan Gathering to help you toast your clan too. You can see it on our website at
http://sites.google.com/site/thebowbar/homecoming-2009
I have the Friday night off, but still might see you there
Hope you all have a great time in Edinburgh
-Mike

As Ann is no longer able to travel to Edinburgh I have a spare concession ticket available for Sunday which will admit one person aged under 16 or over 60.

I'd take you up on that but my student card has an end date of June sadly... I'm not sure if they'd notice though!

Yes but sadly I look well over 16... I've got a bit of a beard at the moment but I plan to shave in the morning.

My plan is to go into the likes of the Bow Bar and Deacon Brodie's, say, between about 3-5pm tomorrow and shout out, "Is there anybody here from X Marks the Scot!"
I hope I get a response!
Cheers
Bruce

Hullo all;
Got back about an hour or so ago - had a great time and met some x-markers! I only recently joined the Clan Home Association and they gave me the honour of bearing their banner on the march up the Royal Mile to the pageant:

I'm staring into the sun, hence the face (well, the grimace anyway)

I am so jealous of all those who could attend The Gathering. Just a quick question Steve, Were there many others queueing up to be the Banner Bearer?
