The petition admin, Beth, has emailed a national newscaster in hopes of getting the story picked up. Also, she writes:
"...I received an email this evening from the Warmacks and they feel that they are in a David -vs- Goliath situation in their town due to the fact that so many of the "powers that be" sit on the school board and run the paper causing a rather incestuous relationship amongst them all. They have sent me several addresses of bigger stations and papers from MO.
So, we'll just see if a few of those big fish in that little bowl of theirs might feel a few waves if we can get outside papers and stations to address it OR if we can get Hannity to address it.
Bet they apologize to Nathan if THAT happened, huh?
As of this point, Nathan has received no apology whatsoever. This just will not do."
Keep spreading the word.

Petition update
From the Admin:
okee dokee guys..here's where we stand.
Mr. Will Springer, the reporter from The Scotsman in Edinburgh has
been in contact with the Warmacks. He had a conversation with Mr.
Warmack via phone. I have been talking to him via email.
He is planning on running the story on the front page of the Culture
and Heritage Section of The Scotsman online, Tuesday, December 6.
He wants to give the principal, Mr. McClard the opportunity to
respond to his questions before he goes to print with it.
Soooo, he has asked me to leave the petition up for abit longer in
order that he may link it in his article for people to sign. I told
him I would leave it up.
So, at this point, I will leave it up until Dec. 16. I won't have
the opportunity to get things tied up on it until then due to my
work schedule between the time of the printing and the start of the
holiday break. So, December 16th I'll be finalizing it and putting
it into hard copy form for submissions to the various entities. We
are over 400 signatures at this point, and I suspect after that
article hits the paper, we'll see the number go significantly
higher.
Let us hope that Mr. McClard feels the wrath of Scots around the
world. He deserves a wake up call...and Nathan deserves an apology.

For those who may not know,,the "Scotsman" is the one of the oldest and I think the largest newspapers in Scotland. This should draw some serious attention.

Here's a link, for those not familiar with it, to the Scotsman.

An interesting aside about The Scotsman that I had from a conversation with Robbie Dinwoodie, a journalist who used to work for the paper back in the early 80s, is that there were two UK newspapers that the Foreign Office sent each day to British legations around the world - one was The Financial Times, and the other was The Scotsman. It clearly enjoys an enormous prestige.
