I am another fellow who has no desire whatsoever to try Haggis.
I will be there with my camera. Hopefully the pics turn out so I can share them with everyone.

AL, You only live once. Good or bad, you have to try it. I have yet to try it yet, and I have a feeling that I am going to like it. Eating Animal stomach isn't that strange in my culture.

Haggis...
Read what's in a package of your run-of-the-mill hot dog or bologna -- and then compare to Haggis. I'll take Haggis anyday.
95% of the people I know who have sworn that they will not like it, do -- when they try it.
Boudain blanc is nae sae bad either, Casey!
Cheers,
T.

vegetarian...
MacSween's, the number one Haggis maker in Scotland, actually makes a vegetarian Haggis that sells well and is quite good from what I've been told.

Hurling Haggii instead of eating them seems to me to be a wicked waste of fabulous fodder (unless the corpses can be salvaged ........... but I wouldn't fancy eating the poor wee beasties after all that)!
By the way, vegetarian Haggis is perfectly edible. I've eaten it many times, although I'm not remotely a vegetarian. It's not as good as the real animal, but acceptable.
Take care,
Ham.
(PS: Haggis is NOTHING like any sausage I have ever seen or tasted - it is quite unique (at least, the best ones are).

Whilst on the subject of the misuse of Haggii.......
Some of you may have missed my link, of a week or two ago, to a highly amusing (if timewasting) on-line bit of fun. Seek it out at:

Just had an e-mail from the Chief Haggis Hurler, Hamish (say that three times fast!), and he said that they buy leftover Haggis "unfit for human consumption" for their hurling Haggis.
I would love to try the Veggie Haggis, just to say I have!
The closest thing I have ever found to Haggis is Boudain Blanc, the Cajun White sausage or pudding -- similar to Haggis, except it is made with rice instead of oats.
A six-course Cajun dinner is a six-pack of Jax Beer from "Nawleans" and a big ol' boudain!
Cheers,
T.
