    To answer a few questions:

Yes, the bulk of the book is from my article of the same title on line. I'm not trying to make money off the book, so I'm leaving the article up there. Mostly, the intent is to have something off-line that vendors can sell to people interested in kilts (also sometimes you just want something you can sit in a chair and read, instead of looking at a computer screen).

Yes, I do deal a little with contemporary kilts, though the bulk of my booklet deals with traditional kilts. One of the appendices that I added is on non-traditional kilts. But, for the most part, the advice I offer in the book applies equally well to both.

I do mention historical dress a bit in one of the other appendices. But if you want a common sense book dealing with the great kilt, you'd be better off getting a copy of my Early Highland Dress

I'd also like to thank those of you who have made purchases already. I've had orders in from the US, UK, Austria, and now Canada. I know most of those orders have been from people on this forum. So thanks for making me an "internationally reknowned" author!

    Aye,
    Matt

    Excellent, M.A.C. !

    Hi Glen,

I noticed on your order that you are a McGuire, as was my 6xgreat-grandmother. Maybe we are 23rd cousin or something... :-)

Didn't know if you've been over to my MacQuarrie homepage and read any of the McGuire info there.

Our ties to the MacQuarrie clan may be legendary, but then again so are most of these "clan affiliations."

    Matt,

Hi cousin I have done some research, but not as much as I would like I still am wondering about the McGuire MacQuarrie connection, but even now all my relatives do roam around a lot (maybe hiding from the bill collectors )

I have been checking your site about all the info and like I said will be able to find time and really enjoy it, now it will be sooner than later

Small world, I married into the MacQuarrie Clan in September. I am obviously not giving up on my Menzis connections, but it's good to see that my wife's family is represented here.

Her aunts, cousins and grandparents were excited to see my kilt at Chirstmas, but it took them a few seconds to realize that it was a Menzies hunting tartan, rather than the MacQuarrie Green and Red.
