The blog enties will get more polished with time and I'll get back to the habit of writing succinctly and with imagery. It's possible to say what I want in a few words, instead of droning on for a paragraph.
One of my favourite examples of succinct writing was by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Instead of describing all the colours in a sky just past sunset he wrote, "The sky was as black as a bad banana."
I read that line about 15 years ago but still remember it.
I'm definitely reading it. But even more than looking forward to the next installment, I simply can't wait for a glimpse of that new tartan you were talking about.
Bear, if you want people to be able to comment without having to log in to Blogger, you can use http://www.haloscan.com/ for doing your comments. The tutorial walks you through adding it to your Blogger blog. I added it to my blog, and it's great. It took about 3 minutes to add, but made my blog comments 10x easier.
Watch out though, blogs can be just as addictive as this forum, and soon you'll have people commenting that you're not writing often enough.
