First of all, let me say that I am a great proponent of freedom of speech and will always defend one's right to it. And I'm not much of a prude, either.
BUT, I have to say, Doc, that remark (the last part of your post) is one of the ugliest things I have ever heard anyone say, besides being quite rude language. I find it very offensive, and I'm not even an 'ex'!

I apologize for offending you Cyndi, but I find my ex to be most offensive. I was blowing off some steam.
This thread has brought back some bad memories.

Slightly on-topic, I picked up my 5 year old daughter a few weeks ago from my X's house, wearing a kilt. It was the first time both my X and my daughter saw me in a kilt. My X and her mother said nothing. My daughter points to the sporran and asked what it was. Not even one comment about the kilt. It made me very happy. Young kids just don't care. I want to get her a kilt that matches Dad's kilt.

I understand, Doc. Divorces, and stressful marriages for that matter, can be terribly painful. And blowing off steam with a little 'cussin' is certainly better than punching somebody or letting yourself be eaten up with bitterness!
Apology accepted.

I've been pretty fortunate. My wife and I have been married since 1971, first (and only) marriage for both of us. Once at a party, (being the smartass I am) I introduced her as my first wife. I carried the bruise on my shoulder for more than a week.

Lol! Man, stories like these make my ex-girlfriend stories seem tame. Guess I have alot to look forward to in the future
BTW: My da said the same thing to my ma once, bubba. Unfortunately, as my ma's family has boney elbows, he got a bruised rib outta the deal!

I shared Erudite's letter with an attorney friend of mine, he said that is why he did not go into family law (read divorce law) for the reason of pettiness on one side or the other. What a pity that people get that way and cannot move on with life. Glad that you did Erudite, and have got you sons into wanting to wear the kilt!

Good God, when did it become inappropriate to teach your children their cultural heritage!? Can you have the nutso disbarred for such a suggestion?

I e-mailed your post to a couple of lawyer friends. One is kilted, and the other soon will be.

My wife is an Enforcement Officer for the County Domestic Relations Office. Believe me when I say she has seen it all, but even she had laugh at that one.
