Ham, check out http://public.fotki.com - you can upload photos to that site, then link to them on any message board you choose. For $30 U.S. a year, you can get unlimited storage space as well. It's no harder to use than the IMFF albums...

All the more reason that whenever I have to figure out what to wear, I simply follow "WWHD - What would Hamish Do?" Very impressive!

That look is a touch flashier than I could pull off.
However, you certainly look grandly elegant in it. Like you steeped out of a grand ball honoring the return of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Too bad I'm too bloody fat to look good in a doublet.

Great look, Ham! Of course, I am biased because I own a GT Doublet of my own. I bought mine because it presents a nice alternative to a coatee and isn't so fussy as a lot of the other military styled jackets.
In my case I wear the GT doublet with a mandarin or banded collar dress shirt with button cover. I wasn't sure how this would look, but after getting the idea I bounced it off of Tristan at Geoffrey who made an inquiry of Charles [Highland dress Mgr]. Both thought it was a great idea, and it presents a look that is a little different.
The GT doublet is certainly smart looking, and it doesn't require a bow-tie. The jabot looks good on Ham, but not on me. I do own a Highland cravat that is a much more plain version of the jabot, but so far haven't had occasion to wear it.

The two things that I'm completely in favor of are the collar, and fact that you can wear a traditional belt and sporran with this! Put the whole thing together and it's just wonderful!
Naturally, it helps to look as distinguished as Hamish!
I hope more guys post options like this! I'm in total agreement that the PC has almost become "uniformish", and these options are nice to see!

Interestingly enough, one has the option of wearing the belt in standard fashion under the jacket, or on the jacket itself by passing the belt through integral loops.

Hi Mychael!
Knowing that you also had a "GT", I was waiting for your input!!
I too liked the option of being able to wear the dress belt either on the kilt or on the Doublet. When being measured for it by Hugh, I was given the choice of having belt loops or not and, if 'not' then of also having the bottom plain button (normally hidden by the belt buckle) replaced with another square metallic one.
Since I was so used to wearing the Montrose Doublet in the past (which does not have any such options), I decided to keep the loops and wear the belt on the outside. I could still wear it on the kilt, if I felt so inclined, but the unused belt loops would give the idea that I didn't know how to wear the ensemble correctly!
Another advantage of wearing the Doublet fully closed and buttoned, is that one can wear a T-shirt under it, instead of a full shirt. Much more comfortable!!

Hi, Ham!
While ordering, I wasn't asked whether or not I wanted the belt loops. In fact, I didn't know they were part of the jacket until it arrived! Since I don't wear a fly plaid, and I prefer a slightly less formal look, I did request that the epaulettes not be attached. Had I have known about the belt loops I probably would have passed on them as well given the fact that they come at the expense of that bottom silver button which you mentioned. That said, I do like the belt-on-jacket look and don't think the lack of bottom silver button when the jacket is worn sans belt is much of a detriment.
I have worn the jacket both ways and THOUGHT it looked fine when I placed the belt on my kilt...
