Shirts for Kilts

Tartan kilts look best with solid colors or simple designs on top, and please no tartan above the waist. There is a picture somewhere of Sir Sean Connory wearing a tartan tie with his Kilt. No, no, no.

It won't be me...it may not look good, but when you exude cool 8) like Sean does, you get some leeway in my book.

You can never go wrong with a good rugby shirt.
also, depending on how dressy you might be, Personally I think a hoodie looks good with a casual kilt.

Just got a new Lands End catalog with some nice looking washable linen shirts in solid colors. Thinking of getting a few both to go with tartan kilts and to go with solid kilts.

I think a solid kilt and a solid shirt can work if the color of the shirt is just a bit jazzy like these.
