    tartan for dog...

Thanks for the compliment Jimmy, not sure about the dog idea, she has no clan associations, not sure what tartan to get her
Why, Stewart Hunting, of course!

Or the Hunter tartan, since they have a hound as their Chief's crest...

A slow day at the library today -- finals week.

    Cheers,

    Todd

The Hall Clan (well, OK the "family association") has a hound on their clan crest too! Every hound should have a crest *grin*

Great picture, Graham. All these fantastic shots are sharpening my wish to get down to see New Zealand, someday. I've a notion to visit some of the sites associated with Captain Cook, since I'm a Cook aficionado.

    Graham,

Congratulations, dear boy! That is a beautiful-looking kilt and your overall appearance (with the exception of the hose!!!!) is perfectly co-ordinated.

The colour of your kilt reminds me very much of my fourth TFCK kilt (Sept 2000), in Khaki worsted. It's still a great favourite.

Sorry Hamish, I missed your comments. As I said, I wasn't too bothered about the hose since it was just a walk on the beach, and on our beach I would be surprised to meet more than two other souls.

However, what hose would you have worn, off white?

Graham, my choice for hose would have been oatmeal, off white or Lovat green.

    Smile solid

    Graham,
yer solid kilt is just marvelous and you wear it well ,I'm totally jealous, but then again I'm a fan of solid kilts especially the earthy tones.
    cheers Richard.

What a great-looking dog! Is your dog a Collie-German Shepherd mix? I used to have one and she was the nicest dog I ever knew, and If I ever get another dog, a Collie-Shepherd mix is at the top of the list. Right now I just have pet squirrels, they would terrorize any dog I brought into the house...

Come now, Graham! Surely we do not dress according to the number of people we might meet? We should always strive to look our best!!

Off-white hose? Oh no. Impractical and too formal. Considering the colour of your sweater, oatmeal would be perfect, as it is for almost any tartan (or plain) kilt in almost any circumstance, other than formal events. I stock up with oatmeal hose every time I visit Edinburgh, and I reckon I probably wear that colour 99% of the time with virtually any of my kilts.
