That's who I use as well. Very good service, nice socks.
Cheaper on Ebay sometimes.

Here is a selection of brand new and interesting hose I received this week from 'The Sock Company - Country' - a small company based in Wales. They have a website ( www.sock-co-country.co.uk ) which gives very little information since they sell mainly from Country Fairs/Craft Fairs, that sort of thing, and by mail order from their comprehensive brochure.

I am hoping the blue/mustard pair on the left will work well with the "X Marks" tartan when it is received and made up into a full 8 yarder.
The company does not list "Kilt Hose". Those in the photo are sold as "Tweed Gun Stockings" and "Shooting Stockings". These items are quite pricey - from £12.00 to around £45.00, but the quality is absolutely superb and some are beautifully hand-knitted.

Hamish,
A few of those look like the ones sold by the Almost Unwearoutable Sock Company... http://www.almostunwearoutable.com/p...ks_product.htm
They do look good, though...

Howdy
I found some socks on JasTownsend & Son, Inc. This site is a 18 century reproduction site for reniactors so do not be alarmed when you get there.
They call them stockigs ..100% cotton stockings the weight of an athletic sock. Over-the-knee length. Unstretched length is 25 1/2 inches from the heel to the top of the stocking. Available in Forest Green, Black, Off-white, Charcoal Gray, Maroon, White, Dark Brown and Navy. Go with the heavy cotton ones..
They also have wool ones of a medium weight. Long over-the-knee socks are 23 inches unstretched from the heel to the top of the stocking. 90% wool 10% acrylic. Gray, Off-white, Navy ,Dark Green ,or Dark Brown.
I think the fit well and go great with a kilt
Price for cotton is $8 & $20 for the wool shipping is $7 unless you want overnight
the web site is www.jastown.com

Who me? I'm probably the most Windows-hating person out there. Been running Macs since 1993, and Apple II's since 1988. Still have my first Mac (a Plus), and a couple II's (II+ and IIe), among other Mac computers. For a couple years, had a PeeCee, but got rid of it. Anyway, the link that was posted got mangled, since there were one too many http://'s. Partly me spacing out, and partly vBulletin software. Firefox likes to send people who click on said links to Micro$oft to be assimilated.

Hamish,
Thanks for the great tip on the socks, I added that website as one of my catalog favorites. They have some very unusual colors and color combinations. I will be sending for their catalog.
