    Just to let everyone know, I did get some of these socks. I got one pair in each color as I just couldn't pass on the price. They work great as kilt hose, with a good length and nice thickness. They even went up over my big calves without a problem. My only desire would be for them to come in more standard colors - black, navy, etc. But if you've got the clothes to match them with, they will work great.

    I agree with you on the use as kilt hose; I got a pair in cinnamon that work great pulled up, or pushed down the way I prefer.

    How bright are the gold ones? Is gold just another name for yellow?

    They're not yellow. Gold is a good name for them, sort of a yellowish-tan. Sorry, that's the best I can describe them. They are close enough to yellow that I can probably wear them to bring out the yellow stripe in my MacIan tartan.
